3,000 people were killed and over 5,600 were injured in the devastating earthquake that struck on Friday 8 September. Mountains have been split, toppling onto homes, entire villages have been crumpled, pushing families to the brink of what they can endure.
Those who survived are still living in the open air, under simple temporary shelters that don’t protect them from the blistering cold of winter.
Each winter, this mountainous region is covered in a deep layer of snow – many villages are completely cut off during the height of winter. Please help us to provide families with warmth, cooking kits, and food before the snow hits.
Be a mercy to a family
Emergency food kit
Provide 50 kilograms of food, including flour, oil, dates, lentils, sugar, oil, semolina, tuna, rice, and pasta, as well as 2 litres of water.
Winter clothing kit
Each kit provides a person with clothing to keep them warm and dry in the upcoming cold weather – a winter coat and winter boots. Winters in this region are below zero with heavy snow so it’s essential to act now to protect families before the winter weather hits.
Shelter kit
Provide a family forced to flee their home with a warm winter blanket and a mattress, providing a warm comfortable bed.
Kitchen kit
Help a family who has lost all their home supplies in the earthquake, allowing them to cook and eat with dignity. Each kit provides a family with a cooking pot and frying pan, a kettle, coffee pods. 6 glasses, spoons, knives, as well as a set of plastic plates.
Emergency cleaning kit
Provide families who survived the quake with cleaning supplies including laundry detergent, bleach, and dish soap. These essential items allow families to maintain good hygiene and avoid waterborne sicknesses in this transitional period.
